Audra McDonald, James Franco, Sierra Boggess, Zach Braff and Bebe Neuwirth were among the stars that helped area pets in need find a forever home.

Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, proceeds from the auction and other donations received during the day benefit the participating shelters and rescue groups as well as the Picasso Veterinary Fund, which is administered by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and provides grants to shelters and rescue groups to cover extraordinary veterinary costs.

Last year's Broadway Barks featured the participation of more than 27 animal shelters from the New York City area, which led to a total of more than 200 adoptions.

Benjamin, Bill Berloni, Sierra Boggess, Zach Braff, Krystal Joy Brown, Danny Burstein, Jane Carr, Victoria Clark, Lauren Cohn, Jenn Colella, Nick Cordero, Colin Donnell, John Dossett, Christine Dwyer, Linda Emond, Felicia Finley, Jessie Fisher, Barrett Foa, James Franco, Sarah Greene, Justin Guarini, Matt Harrington, Bill Heck, James Monroe Iglehart, Rachel Bay Jones, Anika Larsen, Norm Lewis, Lesli Margherita, Kyle Dean Massey, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Judy McLane, Bebe Neuwirth, Jim Norton, Jill Paice, Vincent Pastore, Courtney Reed, Ciara Renee, Christopher Sieber, Jarrod Spector, Mary Testa, Betsy Wolfe, Lenny Wolpe, Heléne Yorke and Karen Ziemba. Attendees were also treated to a performance by Tony winner Jessie Mueller and the cast of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

Presentation of pets from citywide shelters began at 5 PM. Participating shelters include ASPCA, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Adopt a Boxer Rescue, Animal Care and Control of NYC (AC&C), Animal Haven, Anjellicle Cats Rescue, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), BARC (Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition), Bideawee, Bobbi & the Strays, City Critters, Humane Society of New York (HSNY), Husky House, KittyKind, Loving Touch, Manhattan Valley Cat Rescue, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue, Mid Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, NY Pet-I-Care, PetResQ, P.L.U.T.O. Rescue (Pet Lovers United Together As One), Posh Pets Rescue, Russell Refuge, Save Kitty Foundation, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Stray from the Heart, Tigger Foundation and Urban Cat League.
