News PHOTO CALL: Butz and D’Amboise Soft Shoe Their Way to Winning Astaire Awards A newly anointed Tony winner and a last-minute Herculean fill-in of a performer – Norbert Leo Butz and Charlotte D’Amboise – were honored with the annual Theatre Development Fund/Astaire Awards on June 14.

Given yearly to the best Broadway male and female dancers, Butz was lauded for his work in last season’s hit Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, while D’Amboise took home many kudos for keeping the revival of Sweet Charity afloat when star Christine Applegate went down with an injury during its out-of-town tryout and early previews. Below, Scoundrels co-star John Lithgow and Lennon’s Terrence Mann are seen with the winners at the 2005 TDF/Astaire Awards at the American Airlines Theatre on West 42nd Street in New York City.
