They look friendly now, but Liev Schreiber and Keith David are brutal enemies in Othello, which opened at the Public Theatre Dec. 6.
Doug Hughes (An Experiment with an Air Pump, Lake Hollywood) direct the tragedy, in which the famed and valiant Moor military hero (David) wins the beautiful Venetian Desdemona (Kate Forbes) as his wife, only to have his lieutenant Iago (Schreiber) sow the seeds of heedless jealousy in his mind with a few insinuating words and a stolen handkerchief. Othello plays through Dec. 30.
