Peter DuBois directs the LAByrinth Theater Company staging, which began previews Feb. 27 at the Public Theater's Martinson Hall. The limited run was originally scheduled through April 8 but extended its run three weeks to April 29. The play which follows two couples — one just beginning their courtship, the other married and working through hardship — is described thusly: "Laced with cooking classes, swimming lessons and a smorgasbord of illegal drugs, Jack Goes Boating is a story of date panic, marital meltdown, betrayal and the prevailing grace of the human spirit." The show marks the first time LAB co-artistic directors Ortiz and Hoffman have shared a stage for their company.
