"Set in 1860," press notes state, the musical "tells the story of composer Edvard Grieg as a young man, dreaming of international fame and fortune, but after achieving it under the patronage of a famous Italian prima donna, he comes to realize where his heart and true creativity lie, and returns to his two loves: childhood sweetheart Nina and his home in Troldhaugen, Norway."

The mission of The Collegiate Chorale, which was founded in 1941, is to "enrich its audiences through innovative programming and exceptional performances of a broad range of vocal music featuring a premier choral ensemble."
