The Times Square event was free and open to the general public.

The USTA took over Times Square from 9 AM to 1 PM with such features as a skills competition on a miniature US Open tennis court, Wii tennis stations, stilt-walkers, living statues of tennis greats, photos with the US Open trophy and ticket giveaways.
