The new company is related to the popular Sh-K-Boom Records, which has been providing albums that showcase mainly solo recordings by theatrical performers who sing rock and pop, in addition to some cast recordings. Ghostlight will focus its efforts more towards theatre albums that are more traditional in nature. A launch party was held at the Ars Nova Penthouse, on West 54th Street in New York City, with such names as Billy Stritch, Christine Ebersole, Sara Gettelfinger, Sherie Rene Scott, Malcolm Gets and Melissa Errico in attendance.
