The Hairspray Can.
In the glitz and glam of the Broadway Theatre district, producers are forced to come up with the newest eye-catching device possible to promote their shows. The giant Hairspray can just added to the facade of the Neil Simon Theatre is proof positive.

As flashy as it may be, the aerosal wonder is not the first such marketing tool used on the Great White Way. The producers of the Into the Woods revival a few years ago dusted off the over-sized giant's foot used during the show's original run, and placed it atop the Broadhurst Theatre where it "threatened" to squash any passer-by on 44th Street.

Hairspray's orignal Edna Turnblad, Harvey Fierstein, leaves the show in May. He will be replaced by "Laverne and Shirley" alum Michael McKean.
