News PHOTO CALL: Playwrights Horizons Tours the Grey Gardens Off-Broadway Grey Gardens, the new musical based on the 1975 documentary of the same name that stars stage icons Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson, celebrated its opening night on March 7 at Playwrights Horizons.

Taking their inspiration from the film by David Maysles, Albert Maysles, Ellen Hovde, Muffie Meyer and Susan Froemke, creators Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife), Scott Frankel and Michael Korie give the audience an up close and personal look at Edith Bouvier Beale and "Little" Edie, the eccentric aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis as they “revisit and come to terms with their past,” according to press materials.

At left, director Michael Greif, as well as Claudia Shear and cast member Bob Stillman are seen after the show. Below, Ebersole and Wilson are seen with co-star Sara Gettelfinger, while Sarah Hyland, Matt Cavenaugh, and Audrey Twitchell enjoy the opening night party for Grey Gardens at Planet Hollywood in Times Square.
