News PHOTO CALL: The Outer Critics Honor Their Nominees at First Ever Cocktail Party The various nominees for the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Awards – the annual kudos bestowed upon Broadway and Off-Broadway productions by critics based outside New York City – gathered in midtown Manhattan April 26 for a cocktail party in their honor, the first time the Outer Critics has hosted such an event.

Each year, the awards are looked at closely by the nominees and industry insiders as something of a harbinger for later ceremonies such as the Drama Desk and Tony Awards. Several of this year’s nominees can be seen at left and below including; Adriane Lenox (Doubt) and Tim Curry (Spamalot); Marc Kudisch (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and Martin McDonagh (The Pillowman); Jeff Goldblum (The Pillowman) and Heather Raffo (Nine Parts of Desire); Cheyenne Jackson (All Shook Up), Billy Crystal (700 Sundays) and Jenn Gambatese (All Shook Up).

The reception was held at Nino's Tuscany, located at 117 West 58th Street.

Winners of the 55th annual honors will be announced May 9. The full list of this year's nominees can found here.
