The latest edition of Gerard Alessandrini’s Forbidden Broadway, entitled Forbidden Broadway Comes Out Swinging!, officially opened May 4 at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre.

Following a 10-month hiatus, Forbidden Broadway resumed performances Feb. 22. The new edition officially began previews March 17.

Forbidden Broadway Comes Out Swinging! includes Alessandrini’s takes on Kinky Boots, Matilda, Rocky, Cabaret, The Bridges of Madison County, Aladdin, Pippin, the turntable-less Les Miz, Motown, The Sound of Music Live! and Bullets Over Broadway, among others.

The latest incarnation of the long-running Broadway spoof features Carter Calvert, Scott Richard Foster, Mia Gentile and Marcus Stevens with David Caldwell on piano.
