Jeffrey Wright, Suzan-Lori Parks, George C. Wolfe and Don Cheadle are the forces behind Topdog/Underdog, making its world premiere at the Public Theatre July 22. "Shaft"'s Wright and "Traffic"'s Cheadle star as brothers in the black comedy written by Parks (In the Blood) and directed by the theatre's artistic director Wolfe. Topdog is described as a "darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity," a tale of two brothers, one named Lincoln, one named Booth. Their names "foretell a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment."
