Scarlet Pimpernel fans take note: original cast member Christine Andreas returns to the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room, March 10-April 1. Her last appearance there was April 27-May 15, 1999. The final four performances (March 31-April 1) will be recorded for her next solo CD. A bassist and guitarist will be added for those evenings.
Andreas has one CD out, "Love Is Good," and like the album her cabaret gig mixes show tunes with romantic pop standards. According to a source close to the performer, with the exception of "Storybook," the material for this engagement is entirely different from that of the previous one.
A Tony nominee for Oklahoma! and On Your Toes, Andreas made her Broadway debut in the 20th anniversary revival of My Fair Lady.
