Classic Arts News Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Opens Season With Dracula Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's 2004-05 season opens tonight with a revival of Ben Stevenson's full-length Dracula.
Stevenson's version of Bram Stoker's vampire tale was originally produced by PBT in 1997 in a partnership with Houston Ballet, where the choreographer was then artistic director. It is set to music by Liszt arranged by composer John Lanchbery.

"Dracula has become one of PBT's most popular story ballets," said artistic director Terrence S. Orr. "When we first premiered Dracula in Pittsburgh in 1997, all seven performances of the ballet were sold out. Now, seven years later, Dracula has become a classic in its own right."

PBT's season also includes productions of The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Stanton Welch's Madame Butterfly, and a world premiere work set to the songs of Paul Simon.
