This season, the orchestra will present three early-evening concerts preceded by networking sessions, to subscribers on Friday nights. Sandow will no longer participate.

"All along, our objective was to integrate our Splash audience, who took the chance, tried something new, and liked it, into our Mellon Grand Classics series," said spokesperson Jody Doherty in an email. "It is an efficient move, one that we believe will satisfy our newly minted Splash audience, while introducing our loyal MGC patrons to some of the innovations first tried in Splash."
