The Play Company continues its series of free play readings on Dec. 4 with Gary Mitchell's Trust. The Irish Mitchell just won London's Evening Standard Award as most promising playwright.
Trust was first presented at the Royal Court Upstairs in London in 1999. The family drama of a North Belfast boy and his clashing parents is set against the backdrop of the Irish Troubles, intermingling the comic and serious, the domestic and the political.
Karen Kohlhass will direct a cast featuring Paul Vincent Black (The Hostage at Irish Rep), Patrick Fitzgerald (Ecstacy, Mojo), David Hunt (The Memory of Water), John McConnell (also of The Hostage) and Liam Christopher O'Brien (The Hothouse at Atlantic Theatre Company.
The reading will begin at 7:30 PM at the Signature Theatre Company space at 555 W. 42nd Street. Admission is free. For reservations, call (212) 539-8851.
