Nancy Opel

Full given name: Nancy Carol Opel
Hometown: Kansas City
Audition song: "I Never Do Anything Twice"
Special skills: Aside from the usual, I love dialects. Backstage, I knit, make jewelry, play violin very badly, try to learn Chinese, and sew (if I have room, I bring my machine).
First Broadway show ever saw: Good Evening with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook.
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Gypsy of course!
Favorite show tune: Currently, "Rose's Turn."
Most played song on your iPod: 17-year-old daughter has hijacked iPod
One CD you couldn't live without: Pink Martini - "Hey Eugene!"
Last book you read: [Evan Thomas'] "Sea of Thunder" (about Battle of Leyte Gulf in WWII)
Must-see TV show: "The Colbert Report," also DIY anything!
Last good movie you saw: "Lives of Others"
Favorite board/card game: Computer game called Snood (mindless!!)
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Alison Fraser and Marilyn Caskey (they're sitting next to me)
Pop culture guilty pleasure: "That '70s Show" reruns
First stage kiss: The Boyfriend (I was 16.)
Favorite pre-/post-show meal: Do Twizzlers count?
How you got your Equity card: The Darien Dinner Theatre production of Carnival.
Worst missed cue/onstage mishap: I've had several. I've been locked off the set two times by different scenic pieces, and I've fallen face down in a white ball gown during my second performance as Evita Peron.
Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition? A Botox customer, an undercover parole officer, and a conservative wife of a bad guy. All editions!
Worst costume ever: Dancing Frog, which consisted of a green unitard, goggles and flippers. Couldn't see, couldn't dance.
Cats or dogs? Two cats, a Westie and a toy poodle.
Favorite cereal: Frosted Mini-Wheats - a guilty pleasure I rarely indulge in.
Who would play you in the movie? Allison Janney or Julie White!! Both!!
Worst job you ever had: I only made it as a waitress for a couple of days at one of those Brew/Burger places. Red polyester skirt, too.
What's the dramatic role you've been dying to play: What's available? I am highly interested in anything coming up in September…
