Playwright Jez Butterworth has had two playscripts stolen in a burglary. Butterworth (whose Mojo was a hit at the Royal Court) has had his laptop stolen in a break-in at his Primrose Hill flat. Primrose Hill is a highly theatrical area, home, for example, to Jude Law and his wife Sadie Frost (though whoever made off with Butterworth's computer was presumably unaware that it contained the scripts of two new plays).
This misfortune is a modern manifestation of a traditional problem for authors: losing manuscripts. T E Lawrence, for example, left his "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" on the train.
