LOS ANGELES -- John Barrymore will take the stage at the Ahmanson Theatre Sept. 8 at 8 PM.

As impersonated by Christopher Plummer, Barrymore will "recreate one of his most famous theatrical roles (Richard III), recall the highs and lows of his illustrious but ultimately tragic life, and reflect on his four marriages," said a company spokesperson.

Plummer, who won "Best Actor in a Play," Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for his Broadway performance, has been touring the country in the one-man play written by William Luce and directed by Gene Saks.

Barrymore runs through Sept. 27 at the Ahmanson. The schedule is Tuesday - Saturday 8 PM; Saturday and Sunday 2 PM. Tickets are $15-$52.50. Additional performances on September 17 and 24 at 2 PM. Senior rush: available for patrons 65 or older, with ID, on the day of the performance, cash only, subject to availability, not available Saturday evenings. Public rush: through September 19 only, $12 tickets, two hours before curtain, cash only, balcony only, subject to availability, not available Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees.
