News Porgy and Bess, Once, The Book of Mormon and Evita To Play Las Vegas Las Vegas' Smith Center for the Performing Arts will feature the national tours of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, Once, The Book of Mormon and Evita as part of its 2013-2014 season.

The season will open with Les Misérables, running Aug. 7-11. The new 25th anniversary tour of the Tony-winning musical features reimagined scenic designs since it first premiered.

The Wizard of Oz, which premiered in a new London staging featuring material by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in 2011, will arrive in Las Vegas Sept. 10-15. It is based on the 1939 M-G-M screenplay and features classic songs from the film.

The Tony and Olivier Award-winning epic War Horse, which brings Michael Morpurgo's coming-of-age novel about a young boy and his horse to life on stage through the use of imaginative equestrian puppets, will run Oct. 2-6.

Sister Act, based on the 1992 film of the same title, features a disco and R&B score by Tony and Academy Award winner Alan Menken. It will run Oct. 15-20.

The recent Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita, staged by Michael Grandage and Rob Ashford, will arrive Nov. 26-Dec. 1. The new production incorporates "You Must Love Me" from the 1996 film. The long-running ABBA jukebox musical Mamma Mia!, which ended its six-year Las Vegas run in 2009, will return Jan. 7-12, 2014. Following will be the Broadway-aimed production Flashdance – The Musical, running Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2014. Based on the 1983 film about a steel mill welder who dreams of becoming a professional performer, the musical includes hits from the film and new songs by Robbie Roth and lyrics by Robert Cary.

In 2014, the Smith will also welcome three of Broadway's most celebrated productions of recent seasons: The Tony Award-winning revival of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, April 15-20, 2014; the Tony-winning musical Once, adapted from the film and featuring songs by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová and employing a cast of actor-musicians, May 20-25, 2014.

The final production will be the Tony-winning hit The Book of Mormon, which will run June 10-July 6, 2014. The comedy was authored by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez.
