News Potomac Theatre Project Opens 28th Season July 15 With Gertrude - The Cry Potomac Theatre Project, the Off-Broadway company dedicated to presenting thought-provoking work of contemporary social and cultural relevance, kicks off its 28th season July 15 following previews that began July 8.

Performances will continue through Aug. 10 in a limited engagement at The Atlantic Stage 2.

The season opens with the U.S. premiere of Howard Barker's Gertrude - The Cry.  The "startling and revealing response to Hamlet" is directed by Richard Romagnoli.

The cast includes Pamela J. Gray (Present Laughter, Butley), Robert Emmet Lunney (The Graduate, Victory), Bill Army (Act One, Relatively Speaking), David Barlow (The Castle, Victory), Alex Draper (Serious Money, Scenes From An Execution) and Kathryn Kates (Food and Fadwa, "Orange is the New Black").

The season will continue with David Edgar’s Pentecost. The play, which "explores conflicting attitudes towards art in post-Communist Eastern Europe," will be directed by Cheryl Faraone and will star Alex Draper (Serious Money, Scenes From An Execution).
