The show has been a favorite of the Obama family. Creator-star Lin-Manuel Miranda performed a number from Hamilton for the President at the White House in 2009, while the show was still being written.
Playbill.com previously learned that the cast is giving up their day off to perform for the President.
First Lady Michelle Obama saw the show Off-Broadway in the spring, and on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre this summer. The President first saw the Broadway show, which depicts several of his predecessors in the office of President, July 18.

Tickets for the special Monday night performance were going for up to $5,000 apiece to benefit the Democratic Hope Fund, which, according to The New York Times, will go to help pay off President Obama's campaign debt and to buttress the Democratic National Committee, which is paying the costs of the performance on a night when the show is usually off.
The event was organized by Broadway producer Margo Lion, who was characterized as "a longtime Obama supporter."
