Price performed at Theatre Aspen opposite Hadley Frasier in The Last Five Years this past August. Price succeeds David McClendon, who has served as Theatre Aspen's artistic director since 2004. "I am truly excited about this new and creative challenge," Price said in a statement. "I have had such a fortunate and full career, including producing and working with Equity. It was always my hope that all of my interests might lead to a special opportunity and I believe I've found that in this amazing theater company."

Price's Broadway credits include Saturday Night Fever, Smokey Joe's Café and Beauty and the Beast. The singing actress also debuted her solo show The eX-Files at Theatre Aspen in 2007.

Theatre Aspen's season, with Price at the helm, begins in June with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors. The season continues with Rounding Third and Crimes of the Heart.

Price will be in residence for Theatre Aspen's season, which runs from late spring through the end of August. Theatre Aspen performs in Rio Grande Park in Aspen, Colorado.
