News Prospect's Make Our Garden Grow Gala to Feature Karen Ziemba, Jose Llana, Matt Cavenaugh Evan Pappas (Parade, My Favorite Year, A Chorus Line) is set to host Prospect Theater Company’s 2011 annual gala, Make Our Garden Grow, June 27 in the Harbor View Room at Battery Gardens.

The one-night-only event will feature a concert with performances from Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains, Chicago), Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story, Grey Gardens, Urban Cowboy), Jose Llana (Wonderland, Flower Drum Song, Rent), Marla Mindelle (Sister Act, South Pacific) and Gordon Stanley (Ragtime), and is set to begin at 6 PM with cocktails and dinner.

The concert, set to kick off at 8 PM, will feature song selections from Prospect’s decade-long repertoire and a sneak peek of the upcoming 2011-12 season. It will also include an encore performance from Prospect's 2010 production of With Glee including performers Zach Bandler, Christopher Carlisle, Jason Edward Cook, Dan Lawler and Max Spitulink.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Prospect’s mission to develop and produce new American musical theatre works. The non-profit organization, founded in 1998 by five graduates of Princeton University, allows a diverse group of emerging theatre professionals to work together in pursuit of artistic excellence and innovation.
