Byrne, whose musical Here Lies Love will premiere at the Public this spring, will sit with Roots drummer Thompson for a Feb. 26 discussion at the Skirball Center at 8 PM. According to the public, "They will discuss what we're taught — and how we learn — about music, and the way that our ideas shape the songs we create and consume."

Parks (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, Topdog/Underdog) will sit with Grammy-winning composer Marsalis Feb. 28 at Joe's Pub at 9 PM. The two will discuss, "music and American identity — the way that the songs we sing have been part of our nation and our character."

Member tickets are now on sale for both events. Tickets will go on sale to the public Feb. 12. For tickets phone (212) 352-3101 or visit PublicTheater.
