News Public LAB Announces Talk Backs for Neighbors Playwrights Tracey Scott Wilson, Nathan Louis Jackson and Katori Hall will participate in the Public LAB's post-show discussions of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' Neighbors.

Jacobs-Jenkins' racially-charged work, which presents black actors in blackface, began previews at the Public Feb. 16 as part of the Public LAB. Niegel Smith directs the play, which runs through March 7.

The Feb. 23 "Racial Masquerade" discussion will feature Neighbors director Smith, as well as Pulitzer Prize-winning cultural critic Margo Jefferson, playwright-director Chay Yew and author Daphne A. Brooks.

The Good Negro playwright Wilson will moderate the March 2 "Writing After August" discussion, which will explore playwrights creating theatre in the shadow of August Wilson. Neighbors playwright Jacobs-Jenkins will be joined by Jackson (Broke-ology) and Hall (Mountaintop).

"Have you seen the new neighbors?," press notes ask. "Richard Patterson is not happy. The family of black actors that has moved in next door is rowdy, tacky, shameless and uncouth. And they are not just invading his neighborhood — they're infiltrating his family, his sanity, and his entirely post-racial lifestyle."

The cast includes Jocelyn Bioh as Topsy, Danielle Davenport as Melody, Brandon Gill as Jim, Birgit Huppuch as Jean, Chris McKinney as Richard, Okieriete Onaodowan as Sambo, Tonye Patano as Mammy and Eric Jordan Young as Zip. For tickets phone (212) 967-7555 or visit PublicTheater.

The Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette Street in Manhattan.

A joint effort between the Public Theater and LAByrinth Theater Company, the series offers playwrights a developmental laboratory and theatregoers the opportunity to see emerging works for only $10 a ticket.
