News   Public Theater Announces 365NYC JULYFEST
The Public Theater will celebrate Suzan-Lori Parks' ongoing 365 Days/365 Plays cycle with a 365NYC JULYFEST.

Each week during the month of July, four theatre companies will present imaginative productions of Parks' work. Some of the productions will be presented by local theatre companies in a traditional vein, and others will take place in site-specific locations across the city. Locations of interest include the Grand Lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Judson Memorial Church and Central Park (on the lawn between Tavern on the Green and Strawberry Fields) as well as the waiting line for tickets to Shakespeare in the Park productions.

The theatre companies set to participate include 3-d, Blue Box Productions, Boomerang Theatre Company, Collaborationtown, Dixon Place, Engine37, The Faux-Real Theater Company, Gansfeld Theater Company, Genesius Theatre Group, Lucid Theatre, Partial Comfort Productions, Racca's Seaport Salon, Robot vs. Dinosaur, Shakespeare Lab at The Public, Slant Theatre Project, The Tank, The Team, Temporary Theatre Company, Untitled Theater Company #61 and Vortex Theater Company.

In 2002, Suzan-Lori Parks set out to write one play a day for an entire year – the result was the play cycle 356 Days/365 Plays in which some plays are no more than a page long, while others are more fully realized. The grass roots play cycle is currently being produced nationwide by over 600 participating theatres.

Suzan-Lori Parks won the Pulitzer Prize for her play Topdog / Underdog, which was produced at The Public. Her other works include Fucking A, Imperceptible Mutabilities in the Third Kingdom, The America Play, Venus, The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World and In The Blood, among others.

Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis and executive director Mara Manus in association with playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and producer Bonnie Metzgar present 365 Days/365 Plays. For the full performance schedule, visit
