News Pulitzer Winner August Wilson Will Perform a One-Man Show at Seattle Rep May 22-June 1 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson will perform his own one-man work, The August Wilson Project, May 22-June 1 during Seattle Repertory Theatre's 2003 Hot Type Festival of New Work. Todd Kreidler, who assisted Wilson on King Hedley II and will work on the upcoming Gem of the Ocean and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom revival, will direct.

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson will perform his own one-man work, The August Wilson Project, May 22-June 1 during Seattle Repertory Theatre's 2003 Hot Type Festival of New Work. Todd Kreidler, who assisted Wilson on King Hedley II and will work on the upcoming Gem of the Ocean and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom revival, will direct. Wilson's Project will be autobiographical, concentrating on "the Seattle-based playwright's personal struggles as an artist at the crossroads of both black and white culture." Seattle Rep has produced most of Wilson's work including Fences (Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award), The Piano Lesson (Pulitzer Prize), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (New York Drama Critics Circle Award), Jitney (Olivier Award), Two Trains Running and Seven Guitars.

The August Wilson Project will play in the PONCHO Forum. The other pieces in the Hot Type Festival, which usually features seven different plays and musicals, have not been announced.
