News Puzzo's Fringe Comedy The Dirty Talk Returns to NYC Seen at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2005, Michael Puzzo's The Dirty Talk will now get a run at Center Stage.

Spare Change Productions will present the work, which is scheduled to begin performances Jan. 11, 2007, and open Jan. 14 for a run through Feb. 4.

The Dirty Talk centers on two men who "find themselves stranded in a hunting cabin — in the mountains of New Jersey — during a ferocious storm," according to press materials. "During their tumultuous day together the two explore what defines being a man and the value of intimacy."

The comedy was workshopped at LAB's Summer Intensive and annual Barn Series reading festival in 2001 with Stephen Adly Guirgis and David Zayas. It was first presented as part of FringeNYC 2005, then "THE DIRTY TALK” was published in Plays and Playwrights 2006 by The New York Theatre Experience, Inc.

Kevin Cristaldi (Last Station, Flickers, Texas Romance and Hamlet) and Sidney Williams (Identical Same Temptation, Mayhem and Richard Foreman's Nothing) will star in the new run — reprising their turns from the 2005 Fringe production.

The design team features Rob Monaco (set), Sarah Sidman (lighting), Lea Umberger (costume) and Elizabeth Rhodes (sound). The production stage manager is Jen O'Byrne. Lillis served as assistant director on Broadway's She Loves Me and subsequently directed the national tour. His work also includes In Transit (NY International Fringe Festival), Baby Girl (Partial Comfort Productions), A Line in the Sand (Foothills Theater in Nevada City, CA) and Recreating Keiter: I Saw Dad Make the Whole Thing Up ( Bridge Club Productions).

Playwright Puzzo has penned the plays How To Catch a Monkey, The Fiendish Curse of the Mummy's Hand, Lyric Is Waiting and Faster Beats The Furious Heart — all have been performed in LAByrinth's annual Barn Series Festival. His newest play, She Talks To Rainbows was workshopped at the 2005 LAByrinth Summer Intensive. Other credits include his one-act The Horseshoe King of Jersey City (HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival 2003). As an actor, Puzzo appeared in such LAB productions as Dirty Story, A Winter Party and In Arabia We'd All Be Kings.
