News Rachel York Goes Into the Woods Beginning June 18 in Massachusetts Reagle Music Theatre (formerly The Reagle Players) launches its 42nd consecutive season in Waltham, MA, June 17 with Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods, which runs through June 27 with an official opening June 18.

Rachel York — whose Broadway credits include  Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sly Fox, City of Angels and Victor/Victoria —  heads the cast as the Witch.

The company also features Scott Wahle as Narrator and The Mysterious Man, Douglas Jabara as The Baker, Shannon Lee Jones as The Baker's Wife, McCaela Donovan as Cinderella, Ayal Miodovnik as Cinderella's Prince and The Wolf, Greg Stone as Jack, Allison Russell as Little Red Riding Hood, Brennan Roach as Rapunzel's Prince, Krista Buccellato as Rapunzel, Catherine Lee Christie as Jack's Mother, Betsy Foley as Cinderella's Stepmother, Katie Ford as Cinderella's Mother and Red's Granny, Emily Goldberg as Florinda and Sleeping Beauty, Elizabeth Berg as Lucinda and Snow White, and Jack F. Agnew as Cinderella's Father.

The production features direction and costume design by Stacey Stephens, set design by Janie Howland, lighting design by David Wilson, choreography by Wendy Hall and musical direction by Charles Peltz.

With book and direction by James Lapine and a score by Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods originally opened at Broadway's Martin Beck Theatre on Nov. 5, 1987, playing 765 performances before closing Sept. 3, 1989. The original Broadway company boasted Bernadette Peters, Chip Zien, Robert Westenberg, Joanna Gleason, Tom Aldredge, Barbara Bryne, Kim Crosby, Chuck Wagner and Ben Wright. The musical won Tonys for Best Book, Best Score and Best Actress in a Musical (Gleason). The 2002 revival — starring Vanessa Williams, Laura Benanti, Stephen DeRosa, Gregg Edelman, Kerry O'Malley and Christopher Sieber — played 18 previews and 279 regular performances at the Broadhurst Theatre.

The Sondheim score features such tunes as "Agony," "On the Steps of the Palace," "Children Will Listen," "Giants in the Sky," "No One Is Alone" and the title tune.
