News Rain or Shine: "Stars" Enter the "Alley" at Free June 7 Concert Despite the rain, the annual "Stars in the Alley" concert — featuring performers from most every show on Broadway — will be presented today in Shubert Alley from 11 AM-12:30 PM.

Among those actors slated to appear at the event are Rita Wilson, Jena Malone, Lucie Arnaz, Samuel Barnett, Kate Burton, Sutton Foster, David Garrison, Jonathan Hadary, Carol Kane, Judy Kaye, Cynthia Nixon, Ian McDiarmid, Alison Pill, Oliver Platt, Jonathan Pryce, Pablo Schreiber and David Wilmot. The free concert, which is presented by Continental Airlines and The League of American Theatres and Producers, will boast performances from Avenue Q, Chicago, The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Light in the Piazza, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Rent, Spamalot, Sweeney Todd, The Wedding Singer and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The yearly event, which celebrates the end of the theatre season, will also feature cast members from Awake and Sing, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Doubt, Faith Healer, The History Boys, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Shining City and Wicked. The morning concert will feature a raffle of a Broadway prize package, and Lucie Arnaz and Jonathan Pryce will present the Star Award to Christine C. Quinn, Speaker of the City Council. The Star Award recognizes "an individual in public or government service who has demonstrated significant support for Broadway."

Shubert Alley is located west of Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets. Those attending the concert should plan to enter on 45th Street. For more information visit www.starsinthealley.com.
