Additional talent has been announced for the Primary Stages October 16 gala, honoring Tony Award-winning Ragtime, Anastasia, and Once on This Island songwriters Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, as well as In Transit producers Janet B. Rosen and Marvin Rosen.
Anastasia star Ramin Karimloo will join in the tribute to Ahrens and Flaherty alongside Lea Salonga and Quentin Earl Darrington, who are set to appear in the upcoming Broadway revival of Once on This Island, as well as Liz Callaway (the original singing voice of the title role in the 1997 animated film Anastasia) and Rocky’s Margo Seibert.
In addition, the creators of In Transit—Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan, and Sara Wordsworth—will be joined by Broadway cast members David Abeles, Laurel Harris, Erin Mackey, Chesney Snow, James Snyder, Mariand Torres, and Aurelia Williams-Philpotts, to pay tribute to Janet B. Rosen and Marvin Rosen.
The evening will also feature words from Tony-winning playwright Terrence McNally, Ahrens and Flaherty’s collaborator on the Tony-winning musical Ragtime, A Man of No Importance, and this season’s Anastasia; as well as producer Tom Kirdahy, who ushered Anastasia to Broadway this season.
Also planned are speakers from each of Primary Stages’ 2017-2018 productions: Kimberly Senior and Thom Sesma (Discord); Kate Hamill and Jason O’Connell (Pride and Prejudice); Benjamin Kamine (A Walk with Mr. Heifetz); and Sharon Washington (Feeding the Dragon).
Tickets for the 6:30 PM gala begin at $750. Visit primarystages.org or phone (212) 840-9705, ext. 203.
