Peak Performances is set to open its 2016-17 season with the U.S. premiere of The Forgotten/L’Oublié(e), a physical theatre work directed by renowned circus artist Raphaëlle Boitel.

Featuring Boitel with a company of six performers, the show is scheduled to run September 29-October 2 at The Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University in New Jersey.

Boitel, who received critical acclaim for her performance in Spiegelworld’s Desir, began her career as a young girl when she and her family joined the circus. The Forgotten/L’Oublié(e) marks her directorial debut, blending circus, dance and theatre.

In the new piece, a woman becomes three women as she searches for the man she loves. “Wandering through the ruins of her memory, she encounters moments of ecstasy, secret dreams, and haunting apparitions,” state press notes.

The Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University is located at 1 Normal Avenue, Montclair. Tickets are $20, and are available at the box office, peakperfs.org or by calling (973) 655-5112.
