Rattlestick, which is currently preparing the world premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Revisionist Off-Broadway, presented the New York premiere of Slipping in 2009.

Playwright Talbott will direct the Los Angeles run, which will take place April 6-May 5 at Elephant Stage's Lillian Theatre. Rattlestick's goal for the L.A. production is to "create a satellite home on the West Coast comprised of both Los Angeles and New York artists."

Numrich, who appeared in the Off-Broadway run of Slipping, will portray Eli opposite fellow original New York cast member MacLeod Andrews as Jake. The cast will also feature Max Hamilton as Chris and Wendy vanden Heuvel as Jan.

According to Rattlestick, "Slipping follows the emotional trajectory of 17-year-old Eli, after the violent suicide of his beloved father. Alone, numb, and friendless after this tragedy, the jaded high-school senior moves with his English professor mom from San Francisco to a fresh start in Iowa. A new relationship with a boy at school exposes Eli again to the possibility of closeness and the danger of being swallowed by it."

Talbott's plays include Yosemite, Sam and Gus, What Happened When and Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, America, Kuwait.

Tickets are available at rattlestick.org. Elephant Stage's Lillian Theatre is located at 1076 Lillian Way in Los Angeles.
