Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles opened Off-Broadway at the Public Theater July 17. The play, by MacArthur Genius recipient Luis Alfar and directed by Chay Yew, follows a woman from Mexico who sacrifices everything to bring her son to America—only to encounter even greater challenges.
Inspired by the Greek classic Medea, the drama began previews July 2 and is scheduled to run through August 11 at the downtown venue.
