On July 10 and 12 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Brittany Velotta will perform her song cycle, Are You There, Morgan Freeman? in which she journeys from being a 1920s serial killer burlesque dancer to a 1970s hippie lesbian drummer chick. Along the way she is guided by the dulcet tones of Morgan Freeman, her Jiminy Cricket-esque conscience.

In Recce's Balloon Boy: The Musical, written when he was in the seventh grade, he explores the real-life story that captivated media attention in 2009 when a man claimed his young son was stuck in the sky in a weather balloon, only to later admit the child was actually hiding in the attic. Performances will run July 7 and 11 at the The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row.

July 16-19 will see the sweeping historical fiction The Gold, featuring a book by Andrea Lepcio and Philip Yosowitz and music and lyrics by Yosowitz. The story follows Jewish German boxer Joseph Cohen who dreamt of winning the Berlin Olympics in 1936, against the backdrop of his rapidly changing society.

Set in the notorious red-light district of New Orleans is Where All the Rivers Go to Sleep, featuring book and lyrics by Kate Manning and story and music by Jesse Gelber. A story of crime, passion and redemption, the special concert presentation features a 12-piece orchestra that will be directed by Randal Myler, who received two Tony Award nominations for It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues. Performances will run July 18-19 at PTC Performance Space.
