The Reckless Theatre Company, a five-year-old Off-Off-Broadway troupe, will conclude their staging of S.N. Behrman's rarely-performed 1934 work, Rain from Heaven. The play began performances Nov. 3 and ends Nov. 19 at Theatre 3 in Midtown. Rain from Heaven is set on a British estate at a time when Nazi Germany is just beginning to assert its power. The lady of the house, Lael Wyngate, has fallen in love with the manly American, Rand Eldridge. Lael would proceed straight to the altar but hesitates because of Rand's brother, who has organized a fascist youth corp in Europe and is trying to draw Rand into the Endeavor. Also, she is drawn to Hugo, a German Jewish refugee who just escaped from a Nazi prison camp. All three characters eventually find that their stand on the coming storm in Germany will ultimately dictate critical decisions in their personal life.

Julie Hamberg directs a cast of eight. Past production by Reckless include Lance Crowfoot-Suede's Chuppah and Ty Adams' Baseball in Zanzibar. The company took its name from Craig Lucas' play; Lucas was a mentor of the group at the now defunct Circle Repertory Company Lab.

Tickets are $15. Theatre 3 is located at 311 W. 43rd Street. For more information, call (212) 539-3851.
