News Redgrave and Margulies to Guest Star in Speak Truth to Power
Lynn Redgrave and Julianna Margulies will guest star in upcoming performances of Ariel Dorfman’s play Speak Truth To Power at Culture Project. Redgrave guests on Dec. 10 and 11, and Margulies will appear in the play's final performances on Dec. 17 and 18.

The play is based on Kerry Kennedy’s book and is directed by Terry Kinney.

Redgrave’s one-woman show, Nightingale, ended its run at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles Nov. 19. Last seen on Broadway in her Tony-nominated turn in The Constant Wife, Redgrave's other credits include Talking Heads, The Exonerated, Black Comedy, Aren't We All, Moon Over Buffalo and another Tony-nominated turn in Mrs. Warren's Profession. She was nominated for an Academy Award for the films "Gods and Monsters" and "Georgy Girl."

Margulies has appeared on “ER” and "The Sopranos" and in movies such as “Snakes on a Plane.” Her theatre credits include Intrigue With Faye at MCC, Ten Unknowns at Lincoln Center Theater and Fefu and Her Friends at Yale Rep.

According to a release, Speak Truth to Power "chronicles the struggles of 51 activists, including the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel, Helen Prejean, and many other lesser known people who have been championing human rights the world over," according to an announcement. The project presents the stories from people in more than 40 countries across the globe who have "stood up to oppression."

The guests will appear with a cast that includes Carolyn Baeumler, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Megan Byrne, Stephen Kunken, Aasif Mandvi, Lois Markle, Ellen McLaughlin, Charles Parnell, Keith Randolph Smith and Danton Stone. Other guest stars have included Edie Falco, Brooke Shields, Jeremy Sisto and Fischer Stevens.

The play by Dorfman (Death and the Maiden) debuted at Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2000 and has toured across the United States as well as throughout Greece, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Sydney, Helsinki, Rome, Geneva, Seoul, Florence and Mantua.
