News Reed's Refuge of Lies Closes Off-Broadway Sept. 28 The U.S. premiere of Ron Reed's thriller Refuge of Lies concludes its Off-Broadway engagement Sept. 28.

The Hitchcock-like thriller, starring Tony nominee Lorraine Serabian (Zorba!), began performances Sept. 12 and officially opened Sept. 17 at the Lion Theatre.

Steve Day directed the work that also features Richard Mawe (Death of a Salesman) with Libby Skala, Drew Dix, John Knauss, Joanne Joseph and Arthur Pellman.

"Rudi Vanderwaal, a gentle, 'good,' elderly gentleman living in Canada is hunted down by a Jewish reporter who insists Rudi is living a lie. Rudi's haunting past as a Nazi collaborator now demands justice. Will he have the courage to face the crimes of his youth, or flee, once again, behind a promise of grace?" ask press notes.

Designing Refuge are Rebecca Ferguson (set design), Marina Reti (costume design), Michael Jarett (lighting design) and Jonathan Rivera (sound engineer).
