The latest production in the Royal Court's 50th anniversary season sees Reilly (Sexual Perversity in Chicago, After Miss Julie) team up with Hollywood's Alicia Witt, first seen on the London stage in Julian Webber's 2004 revival of LaBute's The Shape of Things.

Witt’s screen credits include "Mr Holland's Opus" and "Vanilla Sky."

Johnson's play — the author also directs — is described as a disturbing comedy and focuses on the offspring of an errant Tory politician. The playwright's previous work for the Royal Court includes Hitchcock Blonde, Insignificance and Hysteria.

Johnson will also direct Richard Wilson and Helen Schlesinger (The Crucible) in Steve Thompson's forthcoming satire Whipping it Up, which opens at West London’s Bush Theatre Nov. 10.

That play also features a politician, taking its title from the British political office of Chief Whip, whose responsibility it is to "whip" the ruling party’s politicians into voting in accordance with government policy. For more on Piano/Forte, which is booking until Oct. 14, call (0)20 7565 5000.
