News Reiter's End of Play to Arrive Off-Broadway April 17 Dave McRee will stage the limited engagement of Brandt Reiter's showbiz drama End of Play, which begins performances Off-Broadway April 17.

Reiter's work officially opens April 23 and continues through May 10 at Center Stage NY. The cast features Mark Doherty, Justine Cotsonas, Dean Imperial, Connor Fox, Eli Ganias, Cailin McDonald, Hilary Bettis, Jacob Troy abd Christopher Randolph.

According to press notes, End of Play, "is a 13-character drama about Theatre, Hollywood and the cost of dreams. When industry outcast Jack Wells abandons his NYU teaching post for Los Angeles to support his young girlfriend's fledgling career, he finds himself caught between the depth of her ambition and his own tarnished soul."

Designing End of Play are Vladimir Shpitalnik (set design), Holly Ko (lighting design), Rebecca Welles (costume design) and Zac Jaffe (sound design).

Reiter has worked in stage, film and television in New York and Los Angeles. He was jazz critic at LA Weekly from 2000-04; he has also written for Village Voice and All About Jazz New York. He teaches dramatic literature and acting at the University of New Haven, and rhetoric and composition at Bronx Community College. He is currently vice chair of playwriting for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region I. He holds an MFA in theatre (directing and playwriting) from Sarah Lawrence College, and a BA in American studies from Temple University.
