The cast includes Anna Chlumsky, Renée Fleming, Blake Hammond, Justin Long, Scott Robertson and Douglas Sills. Three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall directs.
"World-renowned soprano Renée Fleming takes the festival stage as celebrated diva Raquel De Angelis," according to press notes. "When her husband, the fiery and egomaniacal Maestro Vito De Angelis, becomes enamored with the lovely young lady hired to ghostwrite his long-delayed autobiography, Raquel retaliates by hiring her very own—and very handsome—ghostwriter to chronicle her life as an opera star. As the young writers try to keep themselves out of the story while churning out chapters, the high-energy—and high-maintenance—power duet threatens to fall out of tune for good."
Tony winner DiPietro's new work is based on the play Peccadillo by the late Garson Kanin.
The creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Michael Krass, lighting designer Peter Kaczorowski, sound designer Scott Lehrer and music coordinator Rob Fisher. The production stage manager is Brandon M. Kahn.
Performances continue through July 26.
