Marvin A. Chernoff's play has been described in press releases as "a warm, sentimental comedy," with roles that include a stage manager in a Yiddish theatre and an Israeli reporter.

David A. Cox directs CA cast-members Arnold Weiss and Allen Bloomfield, alongside Wendy Axelrod, Ian Kahn, Jeff Kronson, Kathleen Marshall, Alice Spivak and Mary Tahmin. Love Song is produced by the American Renegade Theatre in association with Leslie deBeauvais, Edmund Gaynes & David Billotti. The show plays at the Raymond J. Greenwald Theatre on West 26th St., home of the American Jewish Theatre (though this Jewish-themed work is not connected with the AJT).

Chaim's Love Song, which began previews Aug. 18, runs through mid-November. A box office spokesperson noted that the NY mounting had been "greatly revamped and improved" since the L.A. staging.
