News "Rent" Star Thoms Will Join Schonfeld at Joe's Pub Concert Tracie Thoms, who co-starred in the film version of Jonathan Larson's "Rent," will join composer Jeremy Schonfeld for his Sept. 16 concert at Joe's Pub.

The 9:30 PM evening at the intimate cabaret will also feature the previously announced Christian Campbell, Brother Love and Karla Mosley.

In a statement actress-singer Thoms, who is currently in Los Angeles filming TV's "Cold Case" said, "Jeremy's music is so moving and powerful, for both the performer and the audience, that I'll go anywhere to sing his songs!"

Schonfeld added, "Tracie Thoms is the real deal. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she's incredibly passionate about the projects she's involved with, and loyal to the people with whom she's working. That she counts me among those she wants to work with is an honor indeed."

Schonfeld is known for blending tuneful pop, hard-edged rock, gospel, soul and blues. He's been compared to Billy Joel and Jonathan Larson. Schonfeld is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. The album for his musical Drift (with Craig Pospisil) was released by Sh-K-Boom Records. That show was seen at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival.
