News Report: Ashford to Choreograph West End Revival of Evita Rob Ashford — the Tony Award-winning choreographer of Thoroughly Modern Millie — will choreograph the upcoming West End revival of Evita.

In an interview for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ashford says that he will choreograph the award-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical, which is scheduled for a revival next spring in London. No director or casting has been announced for the musical, which bowed in the West End in 1978 with a cast led by Elaine Paige as Eva and David Essex as Che. It's an especially busy time for Ashford, whose current projects include David Zippel's Princesses and the national tour of Doctor Dolittle. He will also choreograph the musical versions of Cry-Baby and Ever After as well as Kander and Ebb's last musical, Curtains.

As a performer, Rob Ashford starred on Broadway in Anything Goes, The Most Happy Fella, Crazy for You, My Favorite Year and Parade. He was the associate choreographer for the Broadway productions of Ring Round the Moon; Kiss Me, Kate and Seussical. His solo choreography credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Boys From Syracuse.
