According to the Nov. 1 Daily Variety, "Ally McBeal" will be back in bash, this time taking the three Neil LaBute one acts to Beverly Hill's Canon Theatre, beginning Nov. 27. Her New York co-stars Paul Rudd (Last Night of Ballyhoo) and Ron Eldard (Death of a Salesman) will join her for the run.
Because of Flockhart's "Ally McBeal" schedule, the show will run weekends only through Dec. 19.
Flockhart appears in the first monologue, entitled "Medea Redux," about a teenage girl who gets romantically involved with her teacher. Eldard anchors the second play, "Iphegenia in Orem," playing a Mormon salesman whose unconscious misogyny leads him to a tragic decision. Flockhart and Rudd appear in the final play, "A Gaggle of Saints," as a pair of college sweethearts whose dream night in Manhattan goes violently wrong.
Flockhart's stage credits include the Roundabout's Three Sisters and The Glass Menagerie, as well as Mad Forest Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway's Bovver Boys. Rudd last appeared on Broadway as Orsino in Twelfth Night and in Last Night of Ballyhoo. Eldard replaced Kevin Anderson as Biff in the Tony Award winning revival of Death of a Salesman starring Brian Dennehy.
bash ran at New York City's Douglas Fairbanks Theatre from previews June 14 through July 25 with an opening June 24. The five week run sold out completely. Variety also reports that this run will lead to a London production with the two men and possibly Kate Winslet in the Flockhart role.
