The Jeffrey Finn Productions concert, by special arrangement with The Really Useful Group, will play the Kennedy Center's Opera House Dec. 28-Jan. 3, 2005. The special revised version of the concert that has been a hit throughout North America will also feature a new song from the new film version of "The Phantom of the Opera."
A cast of five Broadway stars will be announced in the coming weeks, Playbill On-Line has learned.
Musical supervisor and conductor will be Edward G. Robinson (a veteran of American productions of Lloyd Webber's Cats, The Phantom of the Opera and a previous tour of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber)
. Fans can expect favorite songs by the composer of the musicals Cats, Evita, The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Jesus Christ Superstar, By Jeeves, Whistle Down the Wind, The Beautiful Game and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. A 30-piece onstage orchestra will play.
The Woman in White, with lyrics by David Zippel, is currently in previews on the West End in London. The film, "The Phantom of the Opera," is expected to be released Dec. 12 in New York.
This special engagement of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will be presented only at The Kennedy Center.
The performance schedule will be Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday (New Year's Eve) at 8:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
The box office opening date and ticket prices will be announced.
