Who’s Holiday, Matthew Lombardo’s Christmas comedy that was to star Jennifer Simard as Cindy Lou Who, the fictional character from Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas, has canceled its world-premiere holiday run at New World Stages.

A statement from show reps for Who’s Holiday said the production had "postponed performances due to a sudden rights issue that needs to be clarified before continuing.”

Reps were unable to elaborate on specifics behind the rights issues, but said the production would not take place this season as announced. Refunds are currently being offered for those who purchased tickets.

Simard, who was recently announced to join the cast of Hello Dolly in the spring, was to star as a now middle-aged Cindy living in a beaten down trailer in the hills of Mount Crumpit. The story takes place on Christmas Eve, as she prepares to host a party for her friends, and recalls the first time she met the Grinch.

Directed by Carl Andress, the nine-week engagement was scheduled to begin November 2.

The design team included David Gallo (sets), Ken Billington (lighting) and Jess Goldstein (costumes).

Who’s Holiday is produced by R. Erin Craig, Gene Fisch, Jason Shaw, Scott and Jenny Beck in association with Foresight Theatrical.

Tickets are now available for purchase through Telecharge at Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. For more information visit whosholiday.com.
