Tickets go on sale Nov. 5 for a Nov. 17 benefit performance of Riverdance -- The Show at the Denver Center’s Buell Theater. The show was added to the virtually sold-out return engagement by the company, which "wanted to express their desire to help children and families in crisis." The Nov. 17 benefit show, which will also mark the company’s 1,000th performance, will take place at 2 PM.

The American Red Cross International Response Fund will be the beneficiary of the show. The Fund helps disaster victims worldwide and has recently assisted victims of the Turkish earthquake, the Taiwan earthquake, Mexico flooding and Hurricane Mitch. The American Red Cross has already committed more than $50 million in relief from the Fund to aid victims of Hurricane Mitch, which struck Central America one year ago. That storm left more than 1.5 million people homeless in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador and has destroyed the infrastructure in many cities and towns. Riverdance is composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan.
