Saginaw, MI, will feel the fever Nov. 1 when the new U.S. tour of Saturday Night Fever launches its 2002-03 schedule.

The run at the Saginaw Civic Center will end Nov. 3, with stops in Kansas City, KS, Grand Rapids, MI, Greensboro, NC and Springfield, IL to follow.

Ryan Ashley and Jennifer Mrozik are disco-dancing leads Tony Manero and Stephanie Mangaro, the roles played by James Carpinello and Paige Price on Broadway. Ashley was a member of the original Broadway company and the first national tour.

Other major roles are played by Dena DiGiacinto (Annette), Cameron Stevens (Bobby C.), Michael D. Jablonski (Joey), Ven Daniel (Double J), Jose Restrepo (Gus) and Darren Lorenzo (Monty).

Robert Stigwood and Jon B. Platt present the musical, which featured the songs of the Bees Gees and other disco- era artists, as did the 1977 film on which the show is based. The stage adaptation was by Nan Knighton.

Director and choreographer Arlene Phillips repeats the work she did on Broadway, where the show ran 35 previews and 500 performances, but failed to woo critics or make a profit.
